About the Wilson Wims Elementary School PTA

Being part of the PTA is an amazing opportunity to be part of our events and our school community first-hand, while engaging with the school community to find way to enrich the education of ALL STUDENTS.

Our Mission

At the Wilson Wims Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA), we strive to promote collaboration amongst parents, teachers, staff, and the school administration in enriching the educational opportunities of all students at our school.

National PTA Mission

To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

What is the PTA?

The PTA is a community of parents, teachers, administrators, and community members whose main objective is to support our children at school and in our community. The WWES PTA is our local PTA and is part of the larger organizational PTA entities, including the Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA), Free State PTA, and the National PTA. To learn more about the PTA overall and its mission, you can also visit the PTA national website at pta.org.

What does the PTA do?

The PTA serves as a liaison between our community and our school in advocating for our students and teachers. We also support the school by providing our students and teachers with programs, resources, and assistance to enrich our children’s overall educational experience. Throughout the school year, the WWES PTA supports many events and programs, including staff and teacher appreciation, kindergarten orientation, movie nights, fun run, and more.

Why should I join the PTA?

Joining the PTA supports your children and our school community. Every parent has the opportunity for an active voice and interest in their child’s education. The PTA can be a powerful tool for communicating with school administrators and teachers. You are making a difference in your child’s educational environment by joining, donating, or volunteering. Joining the PTA does not commit you to volunteer; it simply shows that you support our mission to enrich our students' education. That being said, we do rely on the support of volunteers to conduct our events. Volunteering is easy & FUN and is a great way to meet new friends and neighbors. We each have a unique set of skills and talents, which is what makes our community diverse. Please contact us at pta@wwespta.org today to share YOUR skills and help us grow our PTA community!
