Here you will find information about upcoming events & volunteer opportunities. We need your help! Please visit this page frequently for upcoming information and to get involved.  You may also contact us at pta@wwespta.org for assistance!

Volunteers are critical to the PTA. Without your help, we simply cannot offer the beloved events that our students look forward to. We invite you to join us! Contact us at pta@wwespta.org for information on any of our upcoming events. Please note that dates are subject to change.

Upcoming Events

January

Multicultural Night is a wonderful event celebrating our diverse Wildcat Community through an evening of cultural enlightenment, diverse foods, art, artifacts, and a fabulous fashion show!  We invite families to share their cultures by signing up to host a table containing items and artifacts, tasty food, and delicacies. Students are invited to participate in a dazzling fashion show featuring their traditional clothing!   Please complete this form no later than January 10 if your family would like to host a table and/or your student(s) will participate in the fashion show. Families from the same culture/ country will be grouped together.  If you have any questions about Multicultural Night, please reach out to Natalia Winffel.

February

Like with Halloween, the PTA is proud to support our teacher-led holiday activities through special treats for our students. Help is needed to stuff enough goodie bags for our entire school community.

Spelling Bee takes place during the school day for interested students in grades 3-5. The 5th grade winner will move onto the Regional Bee, which will take place in March (tentative). The Word List from the Scripps National Spelling Bee will be sent via email to registered individuals around that time to allow sufficient time to practice. The final schedule for the bee will be sent to the families of registered students. Please register here by January 20 --> https://bit.ly/25WWESBEE

March

The WWES PTA is pleased to offer an annual STEM Expo, but with a twist!  We have added the "A" to welcome the arts to our S.T.E.A.M. Expo! 65% of today's students will find themselves working in careers that do not exist yet. We believe in providing students with opportunities through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Music! More information on the expo will be released soon! If you have any questions, please contact the S.T.E.A.M. Expo chair, Anusha Moodliar.

April

Bingo Night promises fun for the whole family and supports the 5th grade class promotion to middle school. Bingo Night is a sell-out event, so pre-registration is required. Interested in getting involved with the PTA? Please contact the PTA.

May

For one week straight, the PTA engages in honoring our hardworking teachers and staff with themed lunches, treats, and activities. Join our outstanding Teacher Appreciation Committee with your own fresh ideas and help us make the next Appreciation Week the best ever! Please contact us at pta@wwespta.org if you'd like to help with Appreciation.

Come one, come all, to the greatest show on earth! The variety show features student acts from singing and dancing to karate, yoga & more! Auditions will take place at Wims in the APR on Monday, April 7th and Tuesday, April 8th. Students will be notified in writing if they are chosen for the show.  The Variety Show takes place at Hallie Wells Middle School in the APR, with a dress rehearsal the day before on Thursday, May 15th. Participating students must be available for all rehearsals!

June

Our "buy one, get one free" version of Book Fair! The goal of this event is to put books in the hands of all students for summer reading. Help is needed in setup and in the Book Fair throughout the duration of this event. Day & evening shifts are available. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Danni at vicepresident@wwespta.org.

Invite that special grown-up in your life (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, neighbor, or friend) to join you for a special breakfast honoring their wonderful presence in our lives.  When you're done, be sure to drop by our BOGO Book Fair for a special shopping date! Donuts, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice will be served.

Celebrate our amazing 5th graders as they get ready to enter the next phase in their lives: middle school! A special committee (comprised of non-5th grade families) is needed to make this event memorable for our rising middle schoolers. This is a "pay it forward" form of service - as you will need a committee to help celebrate YOUR future 5th grader! Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat!

We are hoping to make this a new Wims tradition! Due to the generosity of our community last year, we raised enough funds for one more day of fun for our outgoing Wildcats. Our 5th graders enjoyed an afternoon on the blacktop with grilled hot dogs, refreshments, water balloons, and a parents v. students kick-ball game! Our students had a wonderful time and we are looking forward to continuing this new event.

Past Events:

August

Join us from noon-2pm for a warm, Wilson Wims Wildcat welcome! We plan to have an inflatable obstacle course, temporary tattoos, and complimentary popsicles and drinks! Come meet the PTA Board and learn about the PTA & how you can get involved. Spirit wear will be on sale so you can get your new Wildcat ready for the school year!

The PTA is proud to be part of the WWES Open House. Stop by to meet the PTA Board and join the PTA! Spirit wear will be on sale as well, and students can turn in their completed Open House activity in exchange for a free Kona Ice! Family members are welcome to purchase additional Kona Ice.

The PTA is proud to welcome back our teachers & staff with a PTA-provided luncheon and gift. Please contact us at pta@wwespta.org today to ask about joining our staff appreciation team!

October

Bring your blankets, camping chairs, and pillows and join us for a showing of Inside Out 2 under the stars. This event is a favorite of past & present Wildcats alike! "Doors" open at 6pm for you to secure your spot, with concessions up for grabs and spirit wear for sale. The movie will begin at dark, approximately 7pm. Spirit wear sales will close at dark, so come early if you'd like to shop. The concession stand will remain open throughout and will close near the end of the movie, serving up pizza, hot dogs, chips, candy, and more! Cash and credit cards accepted. All proceeds go towards the cost of this event as well as to support other PTA events.

Show off your Clarksburg spirit at the second annual Clarksburg Cluster Night on Thursday, October 10! This is a fun event for all our Cluster Families. Cluster schools will march in the parade as a group with students and principals holding a school banner and leading the way. Each student will get one pom-pom and a spirit bracelet (while supplies last) to use during the parade. Please feel free to bring your own poms poms, too. Students should wear their school spirit wear or school colors! For questions, please contact Cluster Night Co-Chairs, Eric Hale, CHS PTSA President at ehaleptsa@gmail.com or Arti Varanasi, Clarksburg Cluster Coordinator at artivpta@gmail.com.

Friday, October 11th - WILDCAT FUN RUN

Fun Run is our largest fundraiser of the year! This event funds the PTA budget for the school year so we can offer events such as Multicultural Night, STEAM Expo, Spelling Bee, Bingo Night & more free of charge.  In the next couple of years, the PTA will need a new Chair for the Fun Run to carry on the tradition we started after the pandemic. This is an important event and vital to the sustainability of the Wims PTA. Due to the size of this event and the work involved, the best transition would be for the new Chair to work with the current Chair for two years prior to taking over. If you are interested in continuing Fun Run, please reach out to Ashley Zuraf at president@wwespta.org. Fun Run would benefit most from a Chair who has several years remaining at Wilson Wims.

Each year, the PTA is proud to support our teacher-led and fall-themed activities through special treats for our students. Thank you to the volunteers who stuffed almost 500 goodie bags!

November

Thank you to all Grandparents for joining your Wildcat(s) for a pancake & sausage breakfast, photo opportunity, exclusive shopping hours at the Book Fair, and a brief Meet & Greet in the classroom! This is a free event sponsored by the PTA through funds raised through the Fun Run.  For more information on Grandparents Day or to join our team, please reach out to pta@wwespta.org

Donate a pie or several pies for this Wims tradition!  Our goal is to send each & every Wims staff member home with a delicious pie for their Thanksgiving Holiday. Pies can be store-bought or made with love and can be any variety. Thank you to all the families who signed up to donate a pie this year!

December

Our students love Book Fair and it's a PTA favorite as well. Help is needed in setup and in the Book Fair throughout the duration of this event. Day & evening shifts are available. Volunteers are critical to the success of Book Fair. Please reach out to Danni Ibarra to hear more and find out how you can become more involved in this important event!

Have you been naughty or nice? This special holiday event offers our young Wildcats the chance to do their own holiday shopping! Parents or guardians are invited to help their students browse our special holiday shoppe. There's something for everyone on their list!

Doing some holiday baking? We love our Wims staff and would love to BAKE their season bright by sharing some delicious holiday treats! Sign up to donate a dozen (or dozens) cookies! Cookies can be store-bought or made with love and can be of any variety.

Non-Event Committees

The PTA is comprised of several committees that are not centered around one specific event, but are critical to the function of the PTA.  Help is needed on all committees, so if you see something on this list that matches your interest or skill-set, please reach out to us at pta@wwespta.org - we are here to support you & help you get started!
